Registered Nurse (RN) - ¾-time or Full-time Position

Position Description:

Now Hiring: Registered Nurse serving Davidson County/South Nashville and Williamson/Maury Counties.

Nurses for Newborns of Tennessee is seeking a ¾-time (30 hours/week) or full-time (40 hours/week) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide home-based services to families across Middle Tennessee. This role offers meaningful, relationship-based nursing work with families who truly value your expertise.

This open position is based in Davidson County and South Nashville, serving families in those communities through in-home nursing visits. By meeting families where they are, our nurses help ensure babies receive a healthy, safe start and the support needed to thrive.

NFN Staff Nurses independently provide in-home nursing visits to prenatal, postpartum, and newborn clients. They follow NFN Clinical Guidelines to assess client needs, plan care, and utilize approved screening and assessment tools. Nurses provide health education, anticipatory guidance, and positive parenting support, and connect families to community agencies and resources as appropriate.

Staff Nurses complete documentation, assessments, screenings, and care plan referrals in NFN’s electronic medical record system and collaborate with hospitals, physicians, managed care organizations, and community partners to support continuity of care. New nurses receive training in both in-person and virtual home visitation, as NFN provides services through a hybrid model of care.

This position offers flexible scheduling, benefits based on employment status, and compensation dependent upon experience.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with an active nursing license in the state of Tennessee

  • Five years of experience in maternal and child health or three years of experience in a NICU or Special Care Nursery

  • Ability to work independently while providing compassionate, family-centered care

  • Comfortable using technology and documenting in an electronic medical record

  • Reliable transportation, including an automobile, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with families and community partners
