Clinical Social Worker

Nurses for Newborns (NFN) is seeking a clinical social worker who connects with our mission and is passionate about making a difference in the community!

About Us: NFN is an independent non-profit organization serving thousands of babies and families each year in St. Louis City, County and numerous surrounding counties.

Nurses for Newborns is seeking the right individual who can independently and in collaboration with a Registered Nurse and/or Community Health Worker, provide comprehensive in-home clinical social work services to prenatal/postpartum mothers or caregivers.

The primary focus of this position is in-home (virtual) counseling. You will be following the NASW Code of Ethics in planning care, assessing client needs, providing therapy and in determining and utilizing screening tools. You will also connect clients with appropriate community resources and actively maintain relationships with these agencies in order to enhance collaborative efforts that benefit NFN clients. You will be working with hospitals, clinics, physician offices and community agencies to provide comprehensive in-home services for clients.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited Social Work program or related field. (Candidates working toward LCSW accreditation will have the benefit to receive supervision at no cost from an on-site LCSW.)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering in-home services or 1 year clinical behavioral health experience providing direct services to high risk patients.
• Knowledge of human behavior, child development, and evidence-based practices for low-income populations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with multi-disciplinary teams and provide leadership in representing clinical social work perspective/liaison with patient and family.
• Strong self-motivation, organization and planning skills.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and current auto insurance.
• Moderate data entry and computer literacy skills.
• Flexibility in scheduling appointments and ability to work with diverse populations.
